GCX Meets Inspiring Detroit Business Owner
On September 29th, GraphiColor Exhibits had the opportunity to exhibit at the 2015 Great Lakes Women’s Business Conference that was held at the Suburban Collection Showcase in Novi, MI. The event was immeasurable in value, proven by the inspirational women business owners that we were fortunate to connect with.
One of these inspiring women was the winner of the 2015 Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest,
AMINA DANIELS
Hatch Detroit was founded in 2011, and was created to support the growth and redevelopment of Detroit by providing support and funding for local entrepreneurs to open their doors in the Motor City. The winner is chosen by a panel of judges, but more importantly chosen with help from YOU! Four finalists are chosen through public voting, and those finalists present their business idea to the judges, where a $50,000 grant is given to the winner!
Thanks to Hatch Detroit and the Great Lakes Women’s Business Conference of 2015, we were thrilled at the opportunity to meet and connect with such an inspiring woman as Ms. Daniels, and also to learn more about Hatch Detroit and what it provides for local Detroit business entrepreneurs and the city of Detroit.
Amina is using her well-deserved winnings to open a one-of-a-kind Detroit Business, the Motor City’s first contemporary cycle studio: Live Cycle Delight. Amina has always had a focus on health and wellness, and she wanted to bring the element of FUN back into exercise and fitness.
“Live Cycle Delight believes that social fitness unlocks the space that motivates people in positive ways. By providing an environment that makes working out fun, we inherently tap into the key way to enable customers to feel like they are partying, not just sweating.”
Amina enthusiastically talked to us about the importance of including a social element in an individual reaching – and maintaining – a healthy lifestyle. She further explained that overall health and wellness involves not just fitness, but encompasses an overall wellness and connection of the mind, body, and spirit. Born and raised in Detroit, Amina couldn’t think of a better place to bring this idea to life.
Taken directly from the Live Cycle Delight business plan:
“By creating an environment that makes working out fun, we tap into the key to enabling customers to enjoy healthy fitness activities by keeping them motivated. Outdoor cycling encourages transportation alternatives for Detroiters. As new transportation alternatives emerge downtown, it’s important to not overlook an option that embraces a fun, healthy, active lifestyle.
Our focus is dedicated to transforming the mind, body and spirit through fitness classes, community outreach, bike safety awareness initiatives and social cycling events throughout Detroit. Live Cycle Delight will offer indoor cycling classes, outdoor cycling meet-up rides, a hydration station, bike lounge, and feature BOSU and TRX classes. While there are other contemporary fitness studios in downtown Detroit, a contemporary cycling studio does not exist.
Detroiters are now revisiting the option to live, work and play within downtown’s 7.2-mile radius. Within this demographic area, the options to help Detroiters maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle are limited. By engaging inactive or novice cyclists with a guided training experience on the proper form and riding techniques we inherently promote cycling as the alternative mode of transportation. As Detroit grows, it’s important we acknowledge the increase in residents, restaurants, and local shopping in downtown Detroit. With over 20 miles of bike lanes in downtown and midtown Detroit, and over 80 bicycles passing key blocks every hour, the need and inherent demand for an indoor cycling studio that supports local cyclists is evident. Detroit’s revitalization paired with the influx of new residents from across the United States creates an innate demand for more options and access to live a healthy lifestyle.”
It was a delight for us to meet Amina and learn more about her entrepreneurial spirit. She and Krista quickly connected that day in September, taking full advantage of being able to experience the incredible value of what exhibiting at a trade show offers:
a person-to-person, face-to-face connection
Our team at GraphiColor Exhibits extends our gratitude to Hatch Detroit for the great opportunity they provide
for our motivated and inspiring Detroit business entrepreneurs!

A note from GCX:
Our Nov/Dec newsletter was recently released, and features an article written by Krista Heilman. She uses her own personal insights into what she learned from exhibiting with us at the Great Lakes Women’s Business Conference.
It’s a great article to read, as this was Krista’s first time attending a trade show as an exhibitor with GraphiColor, and it’s not too late for you to receive our latest edition!
